Wapik Product Protection Performance Description
Definition of Waterproof and Dustproof Rating
Waterproof and dustproof ratings refer to the ability to prevent water and dust from entering the internal structure, reducing damage to components and the motherboard.
Our product's IP protection is tested under controlled laboratory conditions, conforming to IEC 60529 and GB/T 4208-2017 standards.
The following scenarios are tested under normal temperature and pressure conditions, which are defined as: temperature 15-35℃, relative humidity 25-75%, atmospheric pressure 86~106kPa (standard atmospheric pressure value is 101.325kPa).
Waterproof and Dustproof Ratings
Rating Definition Applicable Range
IP54 Cannot completely prevent dust ingress, but the amount of dust that enters does not affect the normal operation of the equipment or its safety; splash-proof, water splashes against the enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effects, with a water flow rate not exceeding 10L/min, and a test duration of 10 minutes. Splash-proof and water-resistant. You can wear and use it during workouts (can come into contact with sweat) and short-term rain exposure (not heavy rain). Not suitable for special dusty environments. Not suitable for water sports, showers, saunas, or any activities involving submersion or prolonged exposure to wet environments.
IP55 Cannot completely prevent dust ingress, but the amount of dust that enters does not affect the normal operation of the equipment or its safety; water jet proof, water projected by a nozzle (6.3mm) against the enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effects, with a water flow rate of 12.5L/min, and a test duration of 3 minutes.
IP67 No dust ingress; short-term immersion proof, under normal temperature and pressure, can withstand accidental immersion in water up to 1 meter deep for 30 minutes. Can withstand short-term immersion up to 1 meter, but it is recommended not to submerge the device. You can wear and use it during workouts (can come into contact with sweat) and on rainy days (not heavy rain). Not suitable for special dusty environments. Not suitable for high-speed water activities, showers, saunas, or improper use or scenarios that involve submersion deeper than 1 meter or immersion for more than 30 minutes.
IP68 No dust ingress; short-term immersion proof, under normal temperature and pressure, can withstand accidental immersion in water up to 2 meters deep for 2 hours. Water resistance is higher than IPX7. Can withstand short-term immersion, but do not exceed a depth of 2 meters underwater when using the product. You can wear and use it during workouts (can come into contact with sweat) and on rainy days (not heavy rain). Not suitable for special dusty environments. Not suitable for high-speed water activities, showers, saunas, or any activities involving prolonged submersion.
Note
IPXX refers to the protection level standard for product safety, defining the ability of a device to protect against water and solid foreign objects. The two digits following IP indicate the degree of protection: the first digit (0-6) indicates protection against solid particles, from large objects to dust; the second digit (0-8) indicates protection against water ingress, from vertical water drops to high-pressure underwater conditions.
Sweat Resistance
Sweat resistance means the product's surface material can resist sweat, but it does not mean the product can be submerged in sweat. The sweat resistance of the product is tested under conditions in our laboratory and conforms to the corresponding reliability test standards.
Precautions
The protection performance of the product is not permanent and may decrease due to daily wear and tear. It is recommended to wipe and clean the product after exercise to remove any residue.
The following conditions may affect the product's protection performance and should be avoided. Damage caused by these conditions is not covered under warranty:
